THOROUGHBID ANNOUNCES MAY SALE

Apr 13, 2022

Tuesday 12th April 2022 ThoroughBid has announced its next sale date, with the online auction house set to open its virtual doors once again on Sunday 1st May.

As the Point-to-Point season draws to a conclusion and the National Hunt world takes a breath after a frantic year, there is no rest for ThoroughBid, who will offer more exciting lots under the hammer at the beginning of May.

The May Sale will provide vendors the chance to offer horses in training, Point-to-Pointers and breeding stock to prospective buyers, all the while knowing they will receive 100% of the hammer price.

This looks a great opportunity for buyers to find another Grandero Bello, the first winner of ThoroughBid’s Point2Rules bonus, which will be up for grabs for any ex-pointer that passes through ThoroughBid’s digital sales-ring.

Since ThoroughBid’s inaugural sale in September 2021, there have been six auctions held with an average sale price of £17,000 per lot, with horses being sold to four countries and a top price of £130,000 for Grade One-winning Belfast Banter.

Entries for the sale close on Friday 22nd April and bidding will begin at 6pm on Sunday 1st May.

James Richardson, CEO of ThoroughBid, said: “We are delighted to announce another sale just as the National Hunt season comes to an end. We know that timing is everything when it comes to selling horses and we believe this to be a great opportunity for vendors and purchasers alike.

“Of course, our hugely popular Point2Rules bonus will again be up for grabs, and we look forward to hopefully handing out another cheque to new connections, which we did for Grandero Bello’s winning owner Josie Reed – sister of Champion Trainer Nicky Henderson.”
