5YO IRISH MAIDEN HURDLE WINNER
A smart WINNER of a competitive Maiden Hurdle at Thurles on the 18th Jan. Travelled sweetly in behind the leading pair throughout before showing a good turn of foot and staying on stoutly to WIN by a good deal more than the WINNING margin.
A good looking son of KINGSTON HILL who looks an exciting prospect for future connections with the size and scope to suggest that a fence next season will play to his strengths.
His trainer told the Racing Post after the race, "I am delighted with Hillberry Hill. An improving horse. He ran a lovely race first time at Clonmel, and I thought he would improve. He's a bit of a babby. I wasn't surprised that he won. I'd say he's a chaser in the making. Henry [de Bromhead] thinks a lot of this horse, so you'd have to be delighted with him. It's great for Brian [Groarke] and Tom [Groarke] and the whole team. I'd say he's a nice horse".
He holds entries for the SUPREME, TURNERS & ALBERT BARTLETT NOVICES' HURDLES (Grade 1) at this year's CHELTENHAM FESTIVAL.
Qualified for the Connolly's RED MILLS Irish EBF Auction Maiden Hurdle Series Final held at the PUNCHESTOWN FESTIVAL.
